22 November 2011 — Foundation of RAAS
The Association was initiated and first led by the outstanding scientist and academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Evgeny Pavlovich Velikhov. His vision laid the core idea of RAAS: uniting citizens and public organizations to advance Russian science and shape national science and technology policy.
4 April 2025 — M. V. Kovalchuk elected Chairman of the Presidium
At a conference held at the National Research Center “Kurchatov Institute”, Mikhail Valentinovich Kovalchuk was elected Chairman of the Presidium of RAAS. In his speech, he emphasized: “We must use the opportunities offered by our Association as a complement to the major ongoing efforts to strengthen science in the country.”
The Russian Association for the Advancement of Science is open to those who share our goals and wish to actively contribute to the development of Russian science.
