The Legacy of E.P. Velikhov

«Major scientific challenges are typically pursued over the course of a lifetime, and seeing them through to completion is of the utmost importance».

RAAS was founded by the distinguished physicist, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, former head and Honorary President of the NRC “Kurchatov Institute”, and Secretary of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation, Evgeny Pavlovich Velikhov.

For decades, his work has shaped the development of key areas in both Russian and global science. Academician Velikhov mentored generations of scientists, laying the groundwork for future breakthroughs.

The Association takes pride in continuing our founder's mission, guided by his core principles: a focus on practical outcomes, the integration of diverse scientific disciplines, and the steadfast pursuit of ambitious scientific goals.
